Torn Between Barcelona is a continuation of the project that began in Istanbul and later continued in Berlin. In this stage, I placed handmade posters with unreadable writings in the public space, positioning them among commercial signs and everyday urban surfaces.
As in the previous cities, the texts were intentionally unreadable, standing between advertisement, political message and artwork. However, the reaction in Barcelona differed. Some of the posters were not removed; instead, they were protected and kept by local shop owners.
Unlike the earlier stages where the works disappeared quickly or remained mostly unnoticed, here they were informally preserved within the urban environment. This response adds a new layer to the project, questioning how context and individual choice shape the perception of what is considered art, object, or visual noise.
